Hello
I use a digital thermometer. Small LCD screen sticks outside the tank, and a small probe sticks to the back glass. Excellant product and easy to use--NO MORE GUESSING---I got mine on eBay for $12.....HTH....Anthony

My controller gives me the temp. I have the probe in the overflow, however I moved the probe all over the tank and never saw more then .2 degrees F change.

I use a plastic cheapo mounted half way down with a black suction. Cost about $2. I double check from time to time with one of those infrared temp guns. Always come to the same conclusion... The cheap one works.

Mine stays in 24-7. Just make sure it's not stainless because it will rust.

I have a digital termometer in the back corner of my tank, about 6 inches down, and I have a suction cup stick on, on the exact opposite side of the tank. Both read the same.

I too have a digital thermoteter. One probe goes in the tank on the back glass, then it connects to an LCD screen. i have a unit the shows me room temp air and water temp too. Mine also has a high and low alert for the the water level.

Just a lil ol glass floating thermometer in my sumps etc. double check reading once in a while. Have a digital stick -on , on my 75.You gotta watch those, they can tend to read wrong,,,,sunlight, room temp vs. tank temp,,,and in my case , my 75 is the older, thicker glass one,,,,and i think the stick on one can't read too well thru the glass, it's prob made for the thinner,newer/smaller tanks,,,,
Not counting extreme temps(low and high) it's also important to keep the temp flucuations to a minimum,,,,,,(never did figure that "rule" out),,,as a diver, i have been in lagoonal type spots, only to have the surface temps really warm, and a thermo just a lil lower, and a big, noticable difference,,,and the stuff does/looks fine there
