Quick Q about media. (my 1st reactor)

dual chamber 5" and 4"

I was thinking about using a corase media in #1 and a fine in #2.

I figure that the finer media will have more contact the raise the effluent PH a liittle more than the corase. Am I right? Or should I just use coarse in both??

I used the fine stuff in both of my chambers, but it kind of mushed out a bit (particularly in the second one, which is odd). I think I'll go to something larger when this stuff runs out.

All my LFS had was fine well...
Just enough to fill the 1st chamber too...

ARM fine media: it has more surface are to dissolve more quickly at higher pH (relatively higher) with circulating acidified seawater. This is especially true if your populations of corals becomes quite dense.

I need to order some more from PA or Marine Depot...

Shop around, even check with your LFS. I am not recommending this particular link, and Only list it so you can see the price diff (don't forget Shipping), and although this particular link is a bit on th high side (they add $20 for handling) , you CAN do better buying in bulk:
