RC is freaking ridiculous

well i wasn on there last night and noticed the thread called the tang police, and it is all about everyone flaming this kid for having a blue hippo in a 46 gallon tank, yea ok this might be to small a tank whatever but they were visious so i recomended to all these people that they should use all this energy to talk about real issues of over ahrvesting of corals and maybe the mortality rate of inhabitants at your lfs who jsut deal in life for money, and i got flamed and was told by people that they disagree that our reefs are being harvested because they have aquacultured corals they got from someone else. i guess they think that the mother colonies were made in a lab or something and then after i posted toms links about the hawaiin reefs and stuff, i was totally ignored. this is freaking ridiculous, i sure wasnt going to tellt hem that i have a chevron tang in my 55, does that make me a bad person, i guess i am the reefs enemy becasue i am keeping a fish alive. i jsut dont know what to think. all i know is i dont care

That's why I stay here and only went to RC to see what's on the classifieds.

That forum is full of stupid people who thinks that they are the reef gods just because they have a deep pocket.

yes i only go there to buy frags but was bored last night so i decided to check out what people were tlaking about now i know why i ahve been a member of both forums the same amount of time yet i dont hink i have 100 posts there yet and if i do it si from buying frags

different site...different motivation.

My motivation is to not only have MY tank healthy and beautiful, but to help in ANY way possible, getting all of YOUR tanks healthy and beautiful.

Some people (not all) over there, have different motivations. Some want more than anything, to feel better about themselves for a few minutes.

Said it before, say it again...TRT ROCKS!!!!

RC is definatly not begginer friendly. I stay completly away from that site.

I dunno if I even have 100 posats there, I have historically only posted when the discussion has been waaayyyy off the mark.

Eric's forum and Randy's forum are pretty good and the info is usually excellent and accurate, not much reason other than shopping to go there for anything else (although I will lurk there on occasion).

Different strokes for different folks.

Personally I like a friendly site where everyone isn't a know-it-all. Or rather, thinks they know it all.

Now, if you will excuse me, I'm going to find the thread that rangerfan was talking about and ask for some advice on why the six tangs in my 20 gallon don't look so good.

You can't really say that one site is better than the other b/c then you will be like the people on "the other site"

I really love the flame free environment here, everyone is really friendly.

Just because there are some "bad apples" on RC, does not make the board itself bad. What about all of the rest of us. many of us being there for many years. I have seen dorks on every board. Perhaps because of the huge membership, {must be doing something correct}, there is a few more there, but does not reflect on all its members.

Many of TRT members, including some of its founding members, were also originals on RC.

I saw that thread,thought it was funny,TRT has good rules and we value our members and will not let you get flamed like RC will,if you have a problem here let any of us know and we will help you all we can,its you guy's that make TRT great thanks.

I prefer to go where people is friendly and are willing to help you not where you get ripped if you do not the latest gadget or simply ignore the "stupid" questions. TRT is a place where people do not get ridicule if they do'nt know something. We are all begginers at some point.

like it has been said. different boards have different personalities. i like the family atmosphere here so i spend a significant amount of time here.

you all are also an easy bunch to moderate!!!!

no trolling please. we do not like it when it happens here, so be courteous to the other boards.

everyone who is here makes this place the great place it is.
