RBTA Question

I've had my RBTA now for about 6 days. On the first day he crawled into the PERFECT spot. On day two he moved to a spot behind the rocks, but 2/3 up the tank. I can't really see how he's doing now, and I'm afraid he's not getting enough light. And, he's almost impossible to feed there.

My question is this, do I curb my desire to move the rock he is on, or do I keep my hands out and hope he knows best? I have this fear that in 3 weeks my beautiful RBTA will be a not so beautiful WHITEBTA.

I tried aiming a powerhead in that spot, but the rock blocks it pretty good, and so far has had no effect.

Thats always an issue with anemones, they seem to like spaces that don't suit us

my sebae did that for a while, a couple of months actually, moved and moved and well you get the picture, till finally one day i got up and he was top of the rocks like he was king of the mountain and lived there happily for over a year till he outgrew my tank and had to take him to a larger home at my brothers house.

I'm not so concerned about that, I'm concerned about the nem liking a space that doesn't suit him, lol. You hear so much about how these animals need intense light, and then they go crawl under a rock!

So, let him be, or expose him?

well i moved mine at least twice a week for a while till i got tired of moving him, he would hide for a bit then come out, i just finally left him alone till he went where he wanted, if he is healthy he should put himself into the light he wants, just watch the intakes and make sure he doesnt go near them...

As long as it is healthy it should find the place that it likes on its own. If you move it to a spot you like and it is not happy it will move back to a spot that it likes better. Somehow they know what kind of lighting and everything else they need to make them happy and will search the entire tank until they find it.

Good luck with it.
