R.I.P. Foxface

I lost my Foxface that I had for over a year and a half.

He juped over into the overflow box and got sucked into the Durso standpipe.

Any ideas on how to prevent this from happening again?

sorry, i love my foxface. i made an acrylic top to fit over my overflow it allows water to pass through but no fish. snails and crabs still manage to bail.

Sorry to hear about the foxface, I am worried about the standpipe issue to, thinking of trying a strainer on the intake, may have to keep it clean, but no one gets sucked up. The eggcrate over the top of the overflow is a good idea too. Maybe do both, I am becoming a "just in case" type of guy these days!

so sorry to hear! I don't know how I will feel if I lose one of my percs. I have had them over a year and a half now, and love them. Glad to hear you are taking measures to keep your next fish safe.

Very sorry for your loss Rob..you might try eggcrate to help keep the bigger fish out. Our hogfish jumped tonight..but he appears like he'll pull through. Not sure how long he was out of the tank..but probably not more than a couple of minutes.
