My tank has some small white colored particles that are floating on the water surface looks kinda like snowflakes anybody know what this is

I would check your calcium alk levels. Did you recently add any additives? I have seen it described as "snowingin the tank".

Check for a ph or temp rise as well as this can be a cause for cal parcipitation.

i havent added a calc suppl in about 6 mths

never had this problem before

"small" how about the size (average) of this "*" or shift 8 on a standard keyboard

I had something like that too, it took me a while to relies it was little pieces falling off the textured ceiling through the canopy.

My canopy only gives me about 12" clearance from the ceiling; every now and then, I would bump the texture crap with my elbow.

I would sugest you to scoop one out and take a close look, crush it, feel it, smell, it and maybe taist it.
