Question

Questions

Hey all,

where to start? Ok, First I have gotten a serpent star, 3 turbo snails and 3 pepermint shimp to start, I will be getting a detritus kit soon as well as some more nas, snails and such.

The Serpent star Ive had him for 4 to 5 days now instead of grazing the bottom hes hiding in a peice of Marshall Island rock. I did feed him and that was kinda neat only wish i could have seen when he ate it I only saw it grab the food then draw it into the rock. Is the reclusiveness normal Ive heard both.

The turbos sit idle during the day and graze at night and, well no way to but this politely, but what takes care of the turbos waste product? the sure seem to go to the bathroom(entire tank) ALOT.

The shrimp I assume all three have molted, and are active at night.

I have noticed I got two types of coral with my Figi Rock working on getting pics Its neat to see the corals little feeding things come out and wave in the flow, I havent IDed him yet
I think the other type is a dwarf cup coral, I havent found a good photo of them yet if some one has a photo please post it, do these dwarf cups have tentacles?

I have seen at least one what i assume is a bristle worm he had a little irridessent blue on him ???

Thinking about getting a ref. Ive heard of hang on the tank types do these work well anyone know?

a I have also seen several bug looking critters???

just wanted to up date all. This stuff is just as cool as it gets!

I want wait to get my 300 gal Bow front!!!!

Let me put it this way, we thought ours was dead because we did not see it for 2 months.

THat is a good sign and is pretty normal for shrimp.

I made one similar to the CPR and we felt that it worked well, Iwould recomend making or buying one.

I am not sure on the rest of the questions, except the bugs should be a good thing, keep us informed.

Live rock rocks!

It's always amazing to watch what pops up and hard to explain to your friends how exciting it is to see bugs and worms, lol.

The little bugs are likely amphipods and copepods building up in population. They will help break down the snail poop

You might try looking at this site to see if anything looks familiar:

Hitchhikers

Have fun!
