question on 34g solana tank
Hey everyone,
any of you have this cube? how do you like it?
After a year reefless I am considering getting back in the hobbie again, this time I am thinking about going small, and with an all inclusive tank.

I love mine, but have also added a few things to it.
Better ATO system as the stock one was not large enough to go an entire day for me
Currnetly upgrading the skimmer.

scruffy rubicon has 2, I imagine he likes them pretty well. Hopefully he'll chime in over here.

Thanks everyone for your comments. I am leaning toward the Solana, I do like it more than the JBJ nano cube.

I am with you. I am debating on getting the Soalna. There si a great thread on RC containing mods and etc. Allot of upgraded the skimmer to a Tunze 9002 and upgraded the top off since its too small. I just have to see if I can get away with the bowling ball looking light or a different light.
I will probably get a chiller as well for it as well as a Tunze nano stream.

I have a 29G Biocube and was looking at the Soalna before I got the Biocube. It looks good but the info on the skimmer and auto topoff system made me go with the Biocube... it was the over all cost of the upgrades.
If I was to do it again I would go with this system from what I've learned over the last year (6 months reading and then having a tank up for 5 months) http://www.fishtanksdirect.com/index...OD&ProdID=1291
This system has it all and you can do any type of corals/clams and fish you'd like w/o having to upgrade anything IMO. It's about the same price as the Soalna with the HQI lighting but has a lot of extras. Again just MO.

I just saw that 39 signature this morning and it looks sweet! I did see the upgrades and lighting system, looks like it is everything you would need in there. For me it is all going to boil down to how much I can save for the tank, I also wanted to get a nano stream but I don't believe I need a chiller or the light they offer. I plan on using a set of T5 and power compacts I have.
On the other hand, If I get me this:
http://www.truvuaquariums.com/maa00040r.html
for half the cost and get me a Remora skimmer and a stand locally....
can you see I am still in the early stages of planing?

That one you still need a heater, skimmer and lights so....
You could always call CAD lighting or email tham and see if you can remove stuff from the tank build and what it would cost. http://www.cadlights.com/
I'm not trying to push one system or the other. I have a 29G Biocube and have out grown it in 5 months and I'm now looking into getting a 60G cube tank from OceanView. So you never know what will happen.

I still have a few things from my previous reefing adventure and probably all I need at this time would be the skimer but it is not a bad idea, I won't know if I don't ask, right?
How do you like your bio-cube?
I think at this time I am just kicking tires so all input is welcome.

I love it but I need more space.... it cost lots of $$$$$ to play in this hobby. I've put over 2,400 bucks in this tank with LR, LS, corals, fish, inverts, chemicals/additives and upgrades. This is a great setup to get into the hobby with!
