question frags coming!
I have some nice frags coming...my question is Im planning on putting them on the bottom or near...They are coming in unmounted....I plan on glueing them straight to my rocks eventually(2 weeks) In the meantime how should I place them???? Im getting some eggcrate but they will fall straight through them...what is recommended?

I usually glue new frags to frag disks,.. this gives me a opertunity to place them,.. move them around, then when I get them where I want to keep them I can glue the frag disk to the rock and the coral will encrust over it.
If you don't have frag disks,.. small peices of LR rubble works too.

Honestly, if the tank they are coming from has the same lighting, a couple of days is more than enough acclimation to the bottom of the tank.
I never wait longer than that under that circumstance, and many times i will put them where i want as soon as i get them if i KNOW the lighting they are coming from is not weaker than mine

Yes, but lighting and nutreants are tied at the hip,.. The reason we do this is to let the coral adapt to the tank, before adapting it to your lighting.
I kinda look at the coral to know,.. if it's super happy after a couple of days, with huge PE i'll jump the gun a bit and start moving it up early,.. if it looks angry I'll leave it at the bottom longer.

I like using LR rubble, personally. That makes them a little more mobile as the tank matures.

Provided there is enough flow for the corals I don't make any changes,.. I don't make any full tank changes to help one coral anymore in general.
