Question for clam keepers?

Got a question today. I've had a derasa clam in the tank for a while now. Since I first dropped it in, everyday it has been fully open. The last three days it has only been 1/2 open. First clam so not to sure on tank behaviour. 440 watts VHO over a 55 = 8/per gal. alk=11dkh, Ca=375 (raising with 2 part). Gets DT's every other day. Am I getting worried?

i agree...my T. derasa does that sometimes, too. try to get your calcium up between 420-480 ppm. other than that, i wouldn't worry too much. one instance, when the clam was doing that, it turned out to be an astrea snail on the side of the clam shell i couldn't see. i guess the clam didn't like the vibrations. hope this helps...
