Question about time to care for fish

I havent built my fish tank system yet and just last night somthing dawned on me. Will I actually have the time to take care of the tank and possibly more important to feed the fish on time. My main problem is my job.... no i dont spend 18 hour days. Im a Pilot and those of you who know the buisness you work typically 5 days on and then about 5 days off. So I guess what I am asking is how would I be able to feed and take care the fish for the 5 or so days that I am on the line flying?

It would not be good to leave a salt water tank alone for 5 days

Do you have someone else in the house who can help you?

Are you gone 5 days straight? depending in tank size and fish selection thats dicey you would also need to think of topping off the tank

If it's designed well, you could use an automatic feeder for the 5 days, but honestly I don't think it would be worth it. You'd be playing catch up for most of the time you're home.

if you do the timing right, you should not have that much of a problem. get yourself a reef computer of some kind. i have an Aquacontroller. this will take care of the tank itself. most fish will be fine if not fed for 5 days, but you will need to make sure you feed them every day when you are back in town.

it is not impossible, but not easy either. i leave my tank for over week several times a year. i usually have a neighbor empty my skimmate bucket only. if over a week i will try and get them to feed also.
