Question About Medicine

Okay, so for fish this morning I had a four stripe damsel and two false percula clownfish. Recently I noticed that the smaller of the two clownfish had what looks like a bite out of his fin so I had been monitoring him. It looks a little white around the nip and I was a bit scared of it getting infected so while I was at the store I was checking out medications. I didn't want to get a specific medication just because I don't quite know what's going on yet so I got "MelaFix" which says that it can repair damaged fins as well as a couple of infections naturally. The ingredients are just 1% Melaleuca. This morning I caught the damsel in the act and brought him back to the store (after catching the little...), so that's done now.

I have a pistol shrimp in my tank now and i'm wondering if this medication will be safe to use with him? I don't necessarily think that the clownfish has an infection but I don't want one to start.

Melafix is safe for inverts I know of several people that have used it in there reefs with no problems at all. And it doesn't take much.

It is good. Make sure you do a water change though when you are done treating.
