Question about filtration

To anyone who can give some advice, I have a one year old reef tank and I recently put a powerhead in the tank to add some more water movement. Well, when I turn on the light I can see little specs of white stuff floating everywhere. I am thinking my filter is not picking up all that debris, if it is debris. I just have a bio-wheel rated for a 80 gallon tank. What do any of you recommend I do, since I don't have a pre-drilled tank for a wet-dry system and sump.

Can you look real close and see if the white stuff floating around is really little tiney bubbles?

Also,... do you have a skimmer on this tank? If you don't a good skimmer would be an excellent upgrade to any salt water tank
