Question about cooking rock

if the rock left in the cooking container is not aerated and the water isn't changed out for weeks....how bad is that?

I neglected my rock for about 4 weeks or more and have not changed the water or had any type of aeration. Nothing smells dead at all but my po4 levels were pretty high.

Just wondering if I'm wasting my time. I posted another question about this same cooking batch so I can figure out what to do with it all

I would suspect there would be some die off, but I would throw in a powerhead at least and put some new water in there.

Thanks I have a big powerhead now and it keeps the water moving along with a heater. Just no aeration
