question about an all fish setup
i have a 60 gallon tall and i am wondering if the water flow is an important thing since its all fish... reason i'm asking is because i'm thinking of putting the power heads in my 75 gallon to add to the two 1200's i have in it now
fish include:
niger trigger
huma huma triger
spinybox puffer
large tomato clown
large domino damsle
filtration:
i have a fluval 305 canister filter
power heads:
(2) maxi-jet 1200's

You have all that in a 60? You must do a lot of water changes, so no sump or skimmer?

you should start thinking about getting a larger tank for those fish. as they get bigger all of those fish will get meaner starting with the damsels. that huma huma is a mean motor also.
the puffer should reach 12", so it will not take long to outgrow a 60.

I am actually going to answer your question. None of those fish require a strong current to be happy.
However, I do agree with Geoff...not only is the tank going to be too small one day, but your bioload is going to one day cause a tank crash. You may ask yourself how I know such things...the answer is because I've done it before, and the bad thing is I've done it once I've done it five times.
I finally learned my lesson and bought some Live Rock and went by a conservative rule of 1 inch of fish per 5 gallons. As you get more comfortable you can try 1 per 3.
Good luck.

i have a 3 inch sand bed with about 70 pounds of rock in the tank also
and added all together i would say the fish add up to about 9 or ten inches... i also do plan on getting a good protein skimmer soon, and the tank has been set up for about a year and a half without any problems with it

with to little flow fish become weak, they are not able to flex their muscles. it really is difficult to have to much flow in a tank, when fish are involved.

Geoff is right about 98% of the time, and once again...I agree with him. You do need to have some flow in your tank...note that I said they didn't "require a strong current to be happy".
