putting pictures up

evry time i try to add an attachment the site tells me the file is to big. how do i fix that???

What application do you use to view the picts now?
Most graphic apps. have some way to resize or lower the resolution of the image. There is no real need to post anything with a resolution higher than 72dpi, unless you are planning to have people download and print the image.

its a pc and the program is 'HP director' i see now where i can resize it however do i crop or just change the pixels?

It is usually easier to change the # of pixels. The avatar under my name is 106 pixels wide, as a reference. The max size of a pict is 170K. I would say not much bigger than 400 pixels wide. You should also be able to change the resolution in the program somewhere. It needs to be at most 72dpi. If it is more the size of the file jumps up significantly.

PaulF's pictures from his vacation are actually 629X415 so you can get an idea on what size to send. These seem to be a good size. I do not have to resize my window to see them.
