Pumps On Or Pumps Off?
do you guys & gals keep the pumps on or off during feeding...I bought some zooplankton and phytoplankton drops and seems it goes right through the overflows when I add it for the corals?

It's OK to turn them off. We don't, but we don't feed that. We used to feed phytoplankton and didn't turn the pumps off then... we turkey-basted it right onto the corals.

Yeah... get a turkey baster just for your tank. We feed corals with that... squirt it right on them. You can turn the pumps off for 20 min or whatever if you like, too.

It's what you use to baste a turkey - they are plastic large syringes with (usually) yellow plastic bulbs on one end. Cost about a buck at the dollar store. I have two I use to squirt-feed the corals and polyps. I can't turn off all the pumps and power heads, it's too much of a pain!

Here is what i use, and well worth the price. You dont even have to put your hands in the tank with this one.

I also use this...my only complaint is that the hole is too small for Mysis. They clog it up

I keep the pumps on at feeding time, this helps to get food to the corals, and if my fish want to eat the'll have to work for it
