Pump selection

I am setting up my sump and I have everything I need except for the pump. I want an external at about 500-600gpm, quiet and efficient. Money is not a problem but don't like to throw it away either. 65 gal tank, 20 gal sump. I'm going to split the return at the tank for 2 inlets for increased water flow. The top of the tank is 52'' off of the floor. Going to drill a hole in the back of the tank under the waterline about 1'' for outflow and use a screened off upturned elbow rather than an overflow tank. Any input on the make and type of pump that people use would be appreciated. KNUTE

go for the mak4! If you're going to split the return, definitely go for 1100gph....from everything i've been reading over the months, it is good to have a high tank turnover rate! Make sure to put a ball valve inline so you can control the flow. you can never have enough ball valves!!! http://www.marinedepot.com/ has the mak4 on special for $148!!!!!! WITH FREE SHIPPING!!!!!!

Try a sen or mag for the reefkeeper on a budget. These are good pumps from what I hear, I'm planning on getting a mag as soon as I upgrade to a bigger tank, plus no noise when it's run underwater. Both can either be run dry or wet at a fraction of the cost of the bigger pumps these are well worth it, you could probly buy 5 mags for what you'd spend on a mak.
