Protien Skimmer


Where do you whant the intake in the tank for a protien skimmer.

At the bottom or at the top?

Not to hijack this but if the skimmer or skimmer pump is in the sump does it matter then?

If in the sump then no, just put it in the drain compatment.

what you want is the surface of the tank to be cleaned. organic materials will build up on the surface of the water. overflows are designed to pull this surface scum off. it will then drain to the sump where the skimmer will remove it.
