Protein Skimmers

I bought a tank setup second hand and it appears that the Tunze skimmer that came with it is shot. powerhead and air pump seem to work but the bubbles won't go up the tube. Can anybody recommend a good brand, in sump skimmer? Or if anyone has a Tunze skimmer out there who has a tips for making the thing work right I'd appreciate it.

10 years ago Tunze skimmers were THE skimmer but have since then faded from the picture. They were very expensive and hard to find. With all the newer, cheaper skimmers available, people lost interest in them. IMO they are still very good skimmers just not popular. They seem to be making a come back lately. For parts check out:

If you do decide to go to a new skimmer, I would highly recommend ETSS skimmers. After years of frustration with my Red Sea Berlin, I decided to change over to the ETSS. My tank conditions have improved 100%.
