Protein Skimmer Evaluation and Help!

I recently had a bak pak 2r for my 18 gal reef but got rid of it for 2 reasons; One: I didn't like it. Two: I was told by many that I don't need one for my tank because it is so small and it could take out a lot of nutrients out of the water. Now I am going to buy another one because I add a 10 gal fuge and it is starting to get algae and fast. I don't know what kind of skimmer I want yet but I am looking to get a good quality one. I was looking at the scum sucker and that looked nice but I never heard of anyone having it, so if someone can inform me about that, that would be great.(You can find it in Petwarehouse) How about the in tank skimmers like that the visi jet, is that any good? If you can name as many as you can think of so I have a good idea of what to get. Thanks everybody

I've been using a Prizm(Red Sea) for 3 years on my 20g. It works great, it's easy to clean and I only paid $80 for it brand new. When adjusted properly, it pulls tha same kind of gunk out that my MR-2 beckett skimmer pulls out (just not as much).

I picked up another Prizm locally for $40 that was used less than a year, It works great on my 25g prop tank.

No bulky pumps in the tank like the Bak Pak requires.

If you do get the prizm, make sure you get the 18-blade impeller, It made all the difference in the world!
