Proper way to top off?

I'm doing water changes and was wondering if there is a proper way to top off.

I've been slowly pouring water around the power head but is there a slower/beter way to do this?

do you mean refilling after a water change or adding FW back into the system due to evaporation?

i pour my water in the sump. this gives it a longer time to mix before getting into the main tank.

You may want to set up a drip for evaperative losses, this way the water level remains constant and salinity will remain constant throughout the day, this is also a great way to add kalkwasser to the tank to stabilize ph and add calcium, Ill give ya more info on how to do this if your interested, as far as water changes go, as long as the ph, temp, and salinity are the same there wont be any stress on the tank, just pour it in..
