A dwarf only needs like a 30 gallon minimally but id get him something like a 40-50 just so hes happy. If its just a fish you dont really need any fancy lighting, you can get some cheap T5 fixtures. Put enough flow so that algae wont grow on the rocks.

Good advice. They arent the most active of fish so I would say a 55 would b nice f you have the space. Agree with flow too. Keep the poo and goo moving!

I think like 30 pounds of LR would help alot, lionfish from what ive heard like to stay under overhangs and stuff like that sometimes so you can try and make a little cave that he can hang out and sleep in, this will also give you your filtering.

If its only fish then the LR is not a must have but sure would add to the quality of water. They (lions) like to have places to perch and stalk prey plus hiding places. Have a retreat can help prevent them from getting stressed. Make a good home for him.
The bacteria on the rock are a natural filtration method also and being that they can be messy eaters it sure would be good to have. You dont need a bunch but a nice little structure or two would be good.

For a Dwarf Lion I would look at one of the 36" tanks or maybe a 40 breeder. Some live Rock with caves , enough light that you can enjoy watching and a good skimmer. They are not that hard to keep happy is you meet there nutritional needs IME
