Proper ORP

Ok, so I got an ORP meter, and wondering what typical ORP should be. I don't use ozone. Currently I am running about 100-109. Is this enough? If too low, how do I raise it? Thanx

is the meter calibrated? The reading of 100 is low, I think Your getting a false reading. What type of meter are you using?

It says it is factory calibrated. It is new. The Hanna Instruments ORP/PH meter.

When did you start using it? is the reading going up the longer it's in the tank?

My reading with a pinpoint was alway about 430 and would only drop after a water change, But I know other people that stay about 320 to 350 all the time, but I have never see one read that low

I set it in the tank, and it is at 130. Not moving up much. hmm.. maybe should get a better meter.

Ok, been sitting all night. Now reading 231. Quite a bit better than the 100. I will keep monitoring. Thanks everyone for your help, and great article Kevin.

Mine normally reads about 375 without ozone. Drops to about 250 after a waterchange and takes a few days to come back up.
