Programming AquaticLife T5 HO-6 lamp light

It has the 2 lunar LEDs, 48". I just put in a different battery backup so am going to program the fixture.

For ease of use, the timer is pre-programmed with START and END times.
  • one 1 WHITE START 9:00 - END 17:00
  • one 2 BLUE START 8:00 - END 20:00
  • one 3 NIGHT START 20:00- END 6:00
Does anyone have any great suggestions for timing? I did read a few threads, but it seems it may be pretty dependent upon the type of tank you keep.

150 show: Fish, liverock, few leather corals, starfish, cleanup crew.

Thanks for any ideas. I don't think 2 hours only of dark is a wonderful idea?

I run my lighting :daylights on for 6-8 hrs(have halides so 6 for me),actinics come on 1.5 hrs before halides,on w/halides and on for 1.5hrs after halides off.Lunar lights should go off when you go to bed or before I think. That's just how I do it and its worked out well for me but lets hear from others w/straight t5 fixtures too!

Sounds like a great plan. The only thing I am not sure of is that the LEDs are really bright, and the tang and mystery wrasse don't really quit swimming around until it's completely dark.

I essentially do what you do except that i only run my lights a total of 11 hours. I have my night lights on for a hour and a half at morning and at night and I phase in my blues after an hour of moonlight with a half hour overlay. Same applies in reverse order when im winding down for the night.

Got it! I've set them up as you two have described. Thanks much for your help. I was trying to figure out why they chose those factory settings? Everyone has adjusted well, and the tang and mystery wrasse have figured out when their perfect bedtime is.
