preventitive medicine

I am looking for suggestions. Just recently I purchased a whitespotted bamboo shark for my fish only.
In the past, if I ever had a problem with ick or any parasites I would dose with Cupramine (with excellent results). However I know that copper based medicines are deadly to sharks (like they are to inverts). And was wondering if anyone has had experience with non copper parasite treatments? Right now there seems to be no outbreak but I noticed a little more flashing which is making me nervous. Would like to find a good preventitive.

I just moved this over to the main forum, Hopefully Jerel AKA Spanky will chime in with a few ideas.

The product I've used in a Q tank is 'ParaGuard' by Seachem. It's not copper based... It has 10% Aldehyde, and Malachite green synergy. It's safe for fish and bio-filter. It worked well on a Gramma that had ich.

BTW, this can also be used at 6 times the dosage as a one-hour dip.
