So over the past 6 months or so I've been running a 90 gallon tank, which is now stocked with a small porcupine puffer and a young black volitan lionfish. I'm aware that in short time they will be too big for the tank: I know someone who will take them. I have plenty of rockwork with lots of big caves and a shallow sand bed.
What are some interesting predatory
fish that maybe you don't see every day? From what I understand, groupers get huge too fast to be put in my tank; is that true? I used to have a niger trigger, but I decided that triggers in general are not for me. Too aggressive
. I considered an angler type fish, and that's still something that interests me. I also like hawkfish and wrasse, but the latter wouldn't work because the hood on my tank doesn't cover the back. Don't want to find any dried up $50 fish on my floor. Are there any cool wrasse that don't jump frequently? Anything at all that you can think of that
A) Won't get huge fast (in under a year)
B) Won't bully my fish or get bullied, in general
C) Won't jump out the back of my tank
D) Doesn't move rocks. My rockwork is gravity-secured.
