Question

Predators

Hello. Thanks for the replies on my Xenia question, they are looking better now that I thined them out. I currently cycled a 55 gallon tank because in my 75 I had a dwarf lion and a sargassum fish. Any day if I would not have moved them, they would have eaten one of my other fish! So now I have a dwarf lion and a sargassum in a 55 tank. I have a 3 inch sand bed, going to maybe add more, a double bio wheel and about 10 pounds of LR. My question: Is this too much bio load. They are 2 or 3 inches now, but the dwarf will get around 6 or 7 and the sargassum will get about 5 1/2 inches. Is this pushing the bioload too much, I realize these fish produce a lot of waste due to their eating habits. I wanted to maybe add one more fish, but I have pretty much given up on that as I am afraid the demand is too much right now. Thanks in advance.

I think you're right to hold off

Sargassum Fish, eh?
When you have the time, post a pic!
I'd love to see one!

Unhappy

I hope he lives long enough for that. I went home for lunch and found him on the ground, a whitish "film" on the top of his body. He is very dark, he changes color from yellow to dark brown when he is hunting or unhappy. He is still swimming around, through jet propulsion (really cool) but he looks real bad. I treated for infections with greenex, it has worked before, but I will have to see. I have had him a long time and would really hate to lose him.
