Possible Mantis?

This may sound dumb, but the other day I was putting a few new pieces of live rock in my tank. The rock had a LOT of veggie growth on it and some of it was coming off as I placed the rock. For a split second I thought I saw something dark green (about an inch long and not even 1/2" wide) on the bottom of the tank that then moved kinda quickly towards the lower inlets of the overflow in the back of the tank.. I just chalked it up to it being a piece of vegeation, but now am being paranoid that it may have been a mantis, even though I saw no legs, eyes, etc. It just seemd to move a bit odd. To put my mind at ease, my question is... Would a mantis shrimp even come out of it's rock so easily in a bright tank?
thanks for your help.

Hard to say Keep an eye and an ear peeled and give it some time. Having a mantis is not the end of the world. If you do find you have one, it just takes some inginuety to get them out...

Well, it's official! I have two inch green mantis in my tank. Today he came out in bright light and grabbed a piece of shrimp. I'm actually amazed he hasnt' killed anything yet. This may explain though why my fish seem stressed though, especially my tang which has ick. Now... how do i get him out? I don't know what rock he's in so removing the rock is not an option. What's the best trap?
