Possible ID help???

Hey gang-

First off, I dont have a pic.. but I might buy a new digi cam this weekend!

OK, to the best of my ability, here it goes. On my glass, I have some little white specks. If you took a pen and put a dot on a piece of paper size. These have little tentacles all the way around the dot and move in the current(not rigid). My only thought is maybe they are some type of fan worm. They are both high and low on the glass. I don't see any on the rocks or sand. They come right off when I clean the glass. Should I avoid one while cleaning and let it grow? Any guess on what these are??

Thanks!

Do they grow in shaded areas? Sounds like a fan worm to me also.

Sounds like your describing copepods... Little bugs that come in on the LR and flourish in your tank. Food for some of the tank inhabitants. They're a good thing...

They are NOT pods. I do know that much. As far as growing in shaded areas, not really. The areas on the glass are not shaded at all. When fan worms reproduce, do they just float around the water column and attach to a spot they like? I think I will try to avoid cleaning one off the glass and see if it develops some sort of tube structure. When I get home I will check under a couple rocks and see if they are growing there too.
