Question

portland

Hello!

I'll be in Portland 9-20 through 9-23 and I would like some ideas of what to do and what to see, I know there is an aquarium in newport, so we might make the day trip there but still planning so any suggestions welcome.

TIA

You can visit the LFS up here and see what you think. I have a list on my site. It's not all the stores, just the one I have visited:

Here's a link to some stuff my family likes to do

Hope this helps.

I would suggest you go down to 'Saturday Market'. It's on the water front downtown. Very cool, lots of hand crafted/homemade stuff. Great food, and good people watching too! It's held every Saturday and Sunday. There is some great live music around Portland too! Everything from Jazz to Rock to Blues to Alternative. If you want to walk around and kind of bar hop, walk down NW 23rd downtown. Good food along there too! If you rent a car, you could go to Mt Hood, up to Timberline Lodge. It's about an hour trip up there. A drive east up the gorge to Hood River is always beautiful! Hope that helps!

Great! Thanks!

I'll definitely be visiting an LFS or 2 so maybe I'll drop the TRT name and perhaps see some of you there

I've got my wife checking these posts as she's the organizer in the family, I'll fill you all in on what we (she heheh) decides!

If you go to the aquarium in Newport, go to the American Hot Dog place in Aqaurium Village. The dogs are great and the proprietor is an old guy that is just a hoot.

Oh, and if you like to do a little hiking, Forest Park in Portland is the largest city park in the country. We also have the smallest park in the world!
