Pod explosion?

I've been away from the tank for the past day...Finally looked at it today and noticed what only could be pods of some sort ALL OVER the glass.
I mean thousands.
I've seen pods in my tank before but nothing like this.
I'd take a pic but don't think it will come out.

Is it possible to get a "hatch" like this?

If so, what would have caused it.
Right now, there are no fish in the tank.
Only 2 shrimp and some corals.

yes it is possible to have zillons of them at once. one tank i had just went white becasue there where soo many, i coould not even see the fish at all!.. i am not sure why? are you putting anything in the tank ?

About four months after I had my tank running I had a HUGE hatch with millions of them. Eventually they all died off returned to normal amount.

I only add ca and an ak buffer.
I also cleared the substrate out of the tank 2 weeks ago now...maybe that had something to do with it.
