Plumbing UV to line to refugium

On my three cavity sump in progress it looks like you want water flow to be pretty low through the UV sterilizer. My used tank came with a Coralife turbo twist.

I have a 1" line from the return pump to the tank, and was going to tee off a line through the sterilizer with a ball valve to reduce the flow going to the refugium cavity of the sump.

Can you over-sterilize? Does this sound like a good plan?

It should be OK Perry. Especially if your goal is really to take the yellow tint out of the water. If your trying to kill the various algae spores and/or parasites, it may be a little much. I have the same set up right now in a sense; I'm feeding my fuge about 350gph through a 40 watt UV. It may be a little quick, but it does effectively keep the tank looking clear

Thanks Hop! I am not sure how much flow will go to the fuge until things are running, but I would guess off the 1100 gph pump someplace between 100 and 300.
