Plumbing 2 side by side tanks together

Anybody have some pics of how they plumbed two side by side tanks together using one pump. I am thinking of adding a 40 gal frag tank to my 75 setup while still using one sump and one pump. I know i will need a bigger pump, I was looking at a Little Giant. The 75 is drilled in the back as high as i could go and the 40 i am looking at is RR. So could be tricky and would like the experts to chime in before this armature plumber has at it...

it's pretty easy, just add a T or Y fitting on the line from the pump
they tanks will only drain as fast as you fill them

Yup!

Be sure that the sump will haandle the amount of flow. If the wate has too much velocity then the bubbles will get pulled around for the ride and you will have micro bubbles in the display tanks.

Thanks. I went to one of my LFS (good one) and they had two tanks plumbed together and they used a T with 4 return points, seemed to provide good flow, i guess that is where i will start. I have 3 return points, so we shall see, i guess as long as i get good water turnover, i can always add a powerhead for flow.

I would add a second small pump for the frag tank and plumb the display tank return separate from the frag tank return. This way you have more control over the flow to the frag tank and you don't change the flow to the current display tank. Why buy a bigger pump to run both tanks when all you need to add is a smaller second pump to run the frag tank?
You can still use your common sump for both tanks. Two pumps in the same pump will work the same as splitting the return of a bigger pump.
