Please help answer a few question

1) I have an 4 inch sand bed that I like to know what would be the best choice to keep it and my glass clearn.

2) I just now putting together a refugium was suppose to looking something like this.

However with my expert skill it come out like this sorry for the big pic, but I can not seem to decrease it side

I going to have to use a seaclone 100 for right now, but I like to Upgrade to a better one soon. The refugium are 24"L x 12"W x 14"H

I guess my question are these. what kind of skimmer and return pump are best for a 50GL tank and how do I get the watter from the main tank into the refugium?

I read the DIY, but keep getting lost since there are lots of stuff there someone new like myself to take it all in at one. yes I know I slow on taking in stuff

To get the water to the sump you'll need an overflow. You'd either drill the tank & put in an internal overflow or get some type of hang on overflow, assuming the tank isn't already reef ready.

Here's a good basic sump page...

Return pump will depend on the volume of your overflow & the head loss created by the return plumbing. Euro Reef skimmers are quite popular although they're spendy. With that sump you might need some type of hang on or external skimmer.

I am more likely to be using this as a overflow

600 gph capacity
vertical and horizontal adjustment screws included

These are what I like to use for overflows here. You will get differing opinions on them but as long as you have a good pump to keep the air out of them you should never have a problem. I've been running one for a long time and never had my tank overflow with it.

That is the same basic design by annother company, I've heard that they work very well as well. The reason I have a genuine cpr overflow is that I recieved it used with a full tank setup I got for repairing a friends landcruiser.
