Plate coral info please...

Hello, I am new to this board.

I am looking for some info on plate corals
(Fungia spp).

I have bought a 4.5inch plate coral a few days ago. This is my first coral purchase. My tank has been setup for about 4 weeks now.

Its a 24G (36inch long) with 1xactinic 2xDaylight 9500K lighting, Prizm Protein skimmer, two Maxi-Jet 600 Powerheads, 28lbs of Live rock,
3inch very fine sand DSB, temp 80F, SG 1.026

I do have a few mushrooms, button polyps and frags of bubble coral that came with my live rock. The LFS gave me some nice pieces out of thier display tank, so these peices had some tiny bits of corals.

The mushrooms especially the polyps are growing very well, already producing new bits.

I have searched the net and couldnt find much info on Plate corals, other than what basic info that comes with online retailers selling corals.

I want to know what are the good signs, what are the bad signs?

Does the coral puff up like a balloon everyday?
Does it retract during the night?

If its possible, please give me some detailed info on this coral, or if you know any good sites that have detailed info about corals. please let me know. Thanks very much.

Good signs are large expansion during the day and that it eats well. Bad signs are any areas of exposed skelleton. Remember to check for trapped air bubbles weekly.

Thanks.
Yes, it should expand every day and retract each night.
