Pistol shrimp question.....again

Well if I can ever actually find a pistol shrimp/goby combo, I am wondering if it OK that I have a very shallow sand bed?

How shallow?

And why do you feel you have to buy them as a combo? I never did.

I would give it a little more time. Do you have some big fish that would cause each to be under cover for a good part of the time?

No big fish! 2" blue tang, 1" GSM clown, Two fire fish.

I never see the pistol shrimp except at night. The watchman Goby is out all the time.

I think that I was lucky cause they both found homes in the front of the tank but at oppisite ends.

Chris

you could try to move one, towards the other. or just let them find themselves, i have a tiger that paired with 2 different watchmans, first a beige yellow watchman, i traded it for a randalls and he paired instantly.

joanne, it really dont matter about your sand depth, my pair has dug all the sand out of the back and made a huge 7-8 inch deep pile where their rock of choice is.

If you have little sand, the pistol will pile it up until its happy, so no worries.
