Pink Tip Haitian Anemone & Shrimp Question

New to the saltwater tank with my mighty 5gl Nanocube, i've placed a pink tip haitian anemone with a cleaner shrimp and good sized coral banded shrimp that i've had for a while. it looks like somebody has pruned my new anemone! the pink tips are gone and as you can see by the attached pic, the anemone seems to be recoiled in terror. am i an idiot for placing succulent pink tips in front of my voracious shrimp? please help! Jeffro

What kind of lighting do you have and how long has your tank been setup ? I'm not that great with anemones since I've had 2 and neither one did good for me . I'm sure someone with more knowledge will help you soon

the foot is still attached...it moved some this morning and has been in the same spot all day. it hasn't opened up and the pink tips are gone. perhaps it's wounded and not dead?

thanks for the welcome, it's great to have access to people in the know. i've only had cichlids in the past so this is a big learning exp. for me. my nano cube has the standard lighting that came with it...i believe it's flourescent. i've had it about a year and the coral banded shrimp has been in it the whole time. i just got a clownfish, cleaner shrimp, green eyed zoos and the pink tip haitian anemone last week from saltwaterfish.com. the pink tip was beautiful at first but today i noticed he never opened up...he's definitely moving around the rocks though.

mine did that and still does at times, it's probably just upset with its placement he'll probably find a spot he likes and settle down
