Pic's at last!
Hi all! I finally picked up a good digital cam and got around to getting some pictures posted at http://communities.msn.com/TheConnXtion
I could use some help with identifying a couple things.

Thanks emoR ekaJ, It should be working now. For once I used proper grammar and put a period on the end of my sentence.... which just happened to be on the end of the url! Duh!

Woah, nice pics! I love the detail you get with them!
I have the exact type of macro algae you have in that colt picture... it's called brown sargassium Algae...that stuff grows like mad!
Here's a link: http://www.globaldialog.com/~jrice/a.../sargassum.htm
Also that other bright green macro algae...the one that looks like bubbles? I have the *exact* same type....I think it's a different variety of bubble algae. It's real pretty, but grows like nothing I have ever seen...it seems to double it's mass every other day, it grows that fast for me.
I don't know about any of the other stuff... thanks for sharing the pics!

nice pix, not sure what the stuff in the first one is but the stuff in the second appears to be an encrusting polyp of some kind

Thanks everyone for the compliments and thanks Raszagil for the url. I think I've identified mine as Sargassum Filipendula because it comes from a single stalk. What do think? http://utweb.utampa.edu/faculty/kbea...s98/sld011.htm
Thanks Geedoug, I'm glad to hear you've got things under control again. I was on pins and needles all through the Thanksgiving weekend waiting to hear the outcome! I suspect you're well on your way to something bigger and better!

Nice Pictures.
The mound in the picture entitled " different green stuff" looks like an encrusting SPS coral. It looks alot like encrusting Montipora. If you touch it do the polyps retract and have a hard skeleton underneath them?

ConnXtion, Hi- I have an idea what your green stuff is. I have seen Psammacora, sps coral, come in on lr. I have a frag of it in my sps tank, mine is chocolate though. I have heard of dark green like your great pics shows. You will really like it, if in fact it is psammocora. It looks great. HTH..

Thank you Dale for your help in identifying the "different green stuff" as an encrusting Montipora. Yes the polyps do retract and the surface is very hard. It does have the same appearance as Montipora digitata and I notice it is growing in peaks. Maybe it will grow into branches?
Sue, thank you for your help too. I will do some research on Psammacora and see what I can find. BTW.. I checked your site WOW! I would love to add more but I want to get some age on the tank first. I am delighted with the possiblity that sps's are doing well in my tank!
