pics as promised
Hey everyone.
I couldn't find the almost there thread, so I'll just start a new one.
Heres a couple of shots of the tank
Here's the canopy and fan setup

Still trying to get a good photo of the sump. I can't get the bubbles to stop. Bubble trap, sponges, lots of filter floss, just can't stop them I'm not real happy at the prospect of building a new sump, but at least I can build it right if I can't get this one to settle down soon. Yea! I just got a call that I get to go pick up my copperbanded butterfly this afternoon. Straight out of the box as soon as it's here from the airport. I'll post a pic later.
Peace,
Bobby

Nice aquascaping! Nice tank!
Bubbles, ugh... might need to slow the flow through the sump, give the bubbles time to pop.

Thanks everybody. I really like the way the rock came out. Makes it worth the hours of "fish tank tetris" my wife and I played the other night.
The bubbles were coming from the return and the skimmer. By extending the return 4 inches down, stacking 5 layers of filter floss, and raising the water level, I think I've remedied that issue. The skimmer is the problem I think. I've placed a bubble trap under the skimmer return with an extra chunk of sponge on top of it, plus built a wall across the sump between the return pump intake and everything else.
I traded a set of halides for a Mad Dog brand skimmer, But after days of monkeying with it, the crappy one I have is better. Should have sold the lights and bought a real skimmer.

I doubt you need to go to the trouble of building a new sump. PM me with your phone number(i dont have any long distance billing), if you want any in person advice on it. Try to get a couple pics to send though. I have built 4 sumps in the last several months, 3 from scratch and have felt the pain...believe me. I think ive got it pretty well figured ouot now though. Im in the middle of building two more.

Thanks Guys, I appreciate all the compliments. Fly, I'll PM you. Thanks! Hey Twitterbait. Nah, I messed with it for a week. Tried every suggestion and messed with it constantly. It actually kicks more bubbles into the tank than the one I'm currently fighting with. I'm just gonna have to buy a name brand. Picked up the copperband. Still acclimating, but he doesn't even seem too stressed about things, just chillin in the bag. Beautiful fish!
Peace,
Bobby
