It is a M. capricornis. I got some other stuff to and I will post tommorow. New clam, table top acro, pocillopora, and a real cool acro frag too. Actually all the corals except the monty are frags. HAppy New Year!!!!

Just a note..... That "garbage can is maybe 24 inches tall. It is not full size. Someone on another board is giving me grief about this coral. Telling me "TRY FRAGS!!!" I have a tank full of them and klive next to the single largest fragging facility in north america. 50,000 + gallons of salt water and over 20,000 pounds of fully cured live rock. I got this piece there today. I actively support aquaculturing effeorts through a sickening reef addiction. I spend (not bragging ok, I don't want to get roasted for this either) a t least 100.00 doolars a week between my tanks. I find self rightous people to be most intolerable. where do these fools think frags come from. The fairy of the reef? I just can't see the point in getting down on someone. I have a good setup. All natural ecosystem method with top notch lighting. Better me, someone who cares taking this colony home, than a trophy hunter who doesn't care and will eventually kill this thing of beauty. All but one of my fish is tank raised. I know I am rambling here but this upsets me a great deal. Again, intolerable self rightous people sicken me in the worst way.... Thank you all for listening to these angry ramblings.

What a beautiful animal! You are lucky to have such a facility nearby that you can give your support to, and because of that one day it might be possible to have 100% tank raised reefs with great varities of livestock. "all or nothing" thinking starts alot of wars, I'm glad you are taking the measures you are with your tank(s). fwiw, Chris

**** You! Now I have the urge to check out Tropicorium and I just droped a C note at Day One today. LOL
Nice find there. We're almost neighbors. I live about 15-20 mins from Tropicorium by Gibralter.
Good luck with Your new charge!

That is awesome. I have two tiny frags of M. capri. Can't wait till they somewhat resemble that. All of the sps in our tank are frags with the exception of one wild acro colony (which we will frag and share with our fellow reefers). I understand wanting a big specimen! Jon and I should really make a trip over to tropicorium. Don't worry about getting flamed over here. Most of us have respect for our other members and can give opinions without being judgemental. That's what makes us unique.
Enjoy your new corals. I'd love to see some pics of the others!
Brooke

Well MROK12 I am disscussed that you would buy a wild colony of this size. You have strayed from the path little lamb. Being the good father that I am I will rid you of this un rightious cap, so that it will not lead you down the wrong road. Just give me your address and I will make the effort to help save your soul..
PS. that is an awesome cap, just beautiful. make sure it gets lots of flow, on all levels, they can be a haven for rotting food which will hurt it. I had one of this size that died in a move awhile back, great center peice.

That is an awsome coral. I have a small capricornus frag, but it will be a long time before it grows to that size.

Thank You....
I am happy to see some realistic people exist. The tropicorium is an ethical place. The specimen I got (Montipora in pic) was collected ethically and I know this because they only deal in ethically collected pieces. There was this one and 2 others that ray (owners son) was going to ffrag off into tiny pieces because of some recession at the bottom. They had apparently been in an orientation where the lowe half of the colony wasn't receiving enough light as it grew. I have 500 watts of mh ans 110 watts of pc on my 65 so it will be fine. They don't even get wild clams most of the time because they do not wan't to support pouchers. Every clam we have is a farmed animal. I will more than likely frag this large montipora to share with friends. We all start somewhere. My 120 gallon is going up at the end of the month and where do you suppose the first coral will come from.... You guessedit a prop from the 65..... Thanks again

Tropicorum Rules!
This place is unreal. Paid my first visit there two weeks ago. Almost couldnt find the place....I think it is actually somebody's house. I was totally suprised when I walked in there and saw what had to be thousands of frags endless live rock. Nice display tanks too!! Fish also looked great. Prices are reasonable .....better if you purchase packs of corals. Truely a nice find...I think they also ship within the US.
Nice purchase.
