Pic! (well sort of)

Okay, only two pics of a combined roll of 35 turned out to be even remotely recognisable... but for what it's worth, here's Sashi!

Here's a pic of my tank, however awful:

....I think I need a good camera.

Hey Sara,
Thanks for our first view of Sashi! I can understand the pic being just a wee bit out of focus, I wouldn't want to get too close to that thing either!

Cool

Way! Thanks for sending a pic of Sashi! You're really coming along with your tank.
Let's see... 2 clowns and what else do you have?

Congrats from the Upstate of SC!

Nice job on the aquascaping. What size of tank is it? How big is the mantis?

Fishdaddy> Yeah, I was really careful...but Sashi is really rather nice (unless you are a goldfish) I've even hand fed him a piece of frozen shrimp.

Cath> The 20 long has 2 percs and one firefish goby...I'm getting a baggalli (sp?) cardinalfish, which will be the last addition. I wasn't going to get one and just leave the tank as is fishwise...but got talked into it by an employee I really like. Not that I was too adverse to the idea...

The mantis tank has 3 damselfish, two domino and one blue damselfish... I've seen references to at least two other mantis keepers having damselfish in with their mantis shrimp without problems, so I decided to give it a shot. So far not so much as a blink out of Sashi. He'll chase down a goldfish with great abandon, but the damsels he ignores...the blue damselfish even hung out right infront of his shell, not two inches away from Sashi's face, and he totally ignored the fish. The goldfish I put in a mintute later didn't stand a chance though.

Green Lantern> The main tank is a 20gal long...the mantis tank is a 20gal tall tank..the mantis is a bit over 5 inches long, and WAY nicer looking in person then on screen.

Sara;

You HANDFED your mantis?

Thank goodness he's a clubber, not a spearer!

OMG I have created a Fem-macho reef daredevil
Sara no matter how much you plead I wont help you get sharks, stonefish(well maybe) or bluering octopus. And no, barracudas arent suitable scavengers for a 20 long.
Seriously, I am glad you are enjoying your mantis. Just remember when you go on Opreef show I get 10%(tax deductable contribution to aging admin retirement fund)
