Tank has been set up for about 2 months now...only went through a minimal algae cycle due to the rock and livestock coming out an already cured system...so no pics of the ugly brown phase. Plus...I am running dual 250W DE halides and these things are bright, the algea runs and hides

yeah thats where my LR came from... I have have live sand but only 10lbs of live rock... I need 20 more pounds... just goes to show not all tank cycling takes a long as people think..
How long from the time you had the tank and live rock until you started putting in animals..

I've got an idea! I've got a surplus of greeeeen flowing hair algae that would add some nice movement to your drab and lack luster tank Wanna trade?

I have got a patch of hair algae, its just hiding in the back
clownfishman- I started to add animals even before the rock in my tank, i wouldn't recommend my way though, you have to be sure that your rock is well cured. I originally had a 35 gallon hex and before the upgrade, I purchased about 150 pounds of live rock for dirt cheap from someone local who had it curing in a tank for the last 6 months. So I brought it home and put it in a kiddie pool in my living room, my wife loved that . I took down the 35 hex and all of the livesock went in with the rock. It took about 3 weeks to get the 90gallon up, so I just transfered all of the rock, fish, and corals into the tank with no cycle. I did however run the tank for a week with a small amount of live rock to colonize the sand with bacteria so it would stay put.

Incredible looking tank.
How deep is that sandbed and how do you keep it clean? Does it function as a DSB?
