PIC! 29Gal - 6 Months
Hi everyone, here's a pic of my tank 6 months in the making. I still have some work to do. Next to the name of each coral in the pic, I have put a grade representing its health, IMO.
You'll see that the GSP has a D cause the polyps just are not extending as they should be, and aren't as green as they should be. And the green button polyps... well they're just white as snow now.
Thanks for the help you've all provided. I love my tank and I think it's beautiful and extremely interesting, but looking at some of your tanks, i know I have a ways to go.

NIce set up.. i like the "look" i know this may have been already asked in another thread.. what is your lighting? your GSP may need a bit more actiniic to really see the green more.. are you spot feeding the buttons?

Thanks Tim. Lighting is 3 x 65W PC (50/50). For the past week and a half or so, I have been turning on only 2 of them and the GSP has been getting more colorful. No I have not been spot feeding the button polyps. I didn't know I should.

Hi Mike-
I like your rockwork, but don't be afraid to add some height. My tank is a 29, too, and I was wary of putting in too much rock at first. I don't know why I felt that way, just super cautious, I guess.
I agree with Tim about the Actinic. I have 2 x 65 PC set up and my tank loves it.
Ummm...about that camel shrimp. Those guys are not reef safe. My local LFS sold it to me, telling me it was a peppermint. Imagine that! An LFS not telling the truth.

Cath- The camel shrimp got taken care of. I think the BCS got it. A far as rock is concerned, I left some space so I can add corals that come on rocks... and that's all the rock I could afford for now. Thanks for the advice!
Motorslave - You can see some of the setup on my specs page (see link below signature), but basically, flow is provided by a Mag7 returning from the sump (regular rubbermaid thing). For surface turbulence I use a HOB filter. My skimmer is not very good and needs to be upgraded. Lights are 3 x 65w PC, but I am only using 2 to experiment. Lemme know if you have any other questions.

Yeah I only have 20lbs of LR in my 29.. it really isn't all that aquascaped.. and I have LS at the bottom.. beginning to think I should have went with crushed coral...
What kind of LR are you using.. my tank has been up for six months in my new home... and it looks pretty good, but I have a feeling I should have added more rock but didn't have the money...
I need to get a updated picture on here.. right now i am having a small red slime issue that my clownfish finds very funny...
Here is what I have in mine:
Green Sinularia
Toadstool
Green Star Polyps
Squamosa Clam
Greeny Frilly Mushrooms
Red Mushrooms
Soon to come ( green hairy mushrooms for the clowns)
Livestock:
1 Clownfish
1 Yellow Watchman SAD goby
3 blue legged hermits
4 Snails
2 Pacific Conchs
Unfortunately I don't have a sump.. I have a HOB refugium... wonder if I can put the heaters and such in there.. although it only holds a gallon of water.. what does everyone thinK??
