Photo Printer
Hello all,
Just wanted to say that I just got a Canon S900 printer.....and it is amazing. It is impossible to tell the difference between the output and a photo lab, and thats not an exaggeration.
Anyone who wants to print out digital photos should check this out
Price is $399

Hi Pat,
Is that just a photo printer or is it also a printer for text and color graphics? I bought a Lexmark about a year ago and I'm not real happy with it so I'm looking to replace it.

I work at best buy, and I must say, the s900 is the best printer I have ever seen, prints a photo in 37 sec. Lexmark sucks, pitch it

It does text and photo...I looked at the epson 1280 but I don't need a wide format printer, and the canon blows it away...it has 5 times as many nozzles and 6 colors vs. 3. Also, the ink is in separate tanks.....so run out of one, just go get that color for 11 bucks..........
The only reason I posted, is because I have NEVER seen anything that looks like a photo lab......simply amazing...not close, same or better and fast...8x10 in 1 min, 4x6 in 30 sec

if you want a REAL photo printer, check out the sony dpp-sv55 or dpp-sv77. these are REAL photo printers and even laminate the photo after printing. also, they print the photos using complimentary colors (magenta, cyan, and yellow), unlike inkjet printers that pile opaque inks on top of one another. plus, they even have an interface for sony memory sticks and they print wallet size too they run about $300.

Who knows.....but the S900 is supposed to be as good as dye sublimation (like the Sony) and it prints with photo cyan and magenta, and the ink is archival with a 25 year no-fade lifespan....
If money was no object, I guess you could get multiple printers, but I'm just saying the cannon is pretty cool..
