I used one for a while but then decided it was more a matter of husbandry wrather than "uncontrolable Phosphates. I now use mine for activated carbon.

I used one for a while, it definately dropped the phosphate level, but it really is more of a bandaid then a cure. You could use it temporarily to lower your phosphates but don't leave it going forever. The key is to figure out where your phosphate is coming from and try preventing the high levels rather than trying to absorb them out with phosban.

Of course, possible sources of phosphates are:
Too much food
Not enough skimming
LR or SB full of phosphates
Too many fish?

I run Rowa 24/7 now. (had same issues for several months)
My thoughts are that there is a problem, thus algee, why alow it to absorb into everything, while you fiq out what is wrong?
Run it and work on all the things listed above and hopfully the sand and LR will last a little longer.

I use them on both of my tanks. I run carbon a couple of days a month and phosban the rest of the time........actually i just this morning switched over to rowa-phos though. I have no measurable phosphates nor nuisance algae problems but i run it anyway.

I run one, I only use about 1/6th what they say to use in it. Just enough and thats all just to be on the safe side. if there is trace amounts of ph04 it can have an effect on coral calcification, so every measure to speed up growth is a good one!
