PhosBan Reactor Help
Just bought a Two Little Fishes PhosBan Reactor 150. I've never used one before and I got a couple different answers to my questions(depending on who I asked at the LFS.
I bought the Pura PhosLock as my media. The container states to add 1 TBS per 25 gallons. Is that really all I add to this whole reactor? Seems like there will be a whole lot of empty space in there. How long should the media last? I was told 5 or 6 months by one guy and 1 month from another. Should the media just go straight into the reactor or in a media bag?
My tank is a 125g.

I use a 50/50 mix of carbon and farric oxide in mine and change it out monthly and it works great and I know others that use the same mix in there tanks and we all feed heavy. But you need to be careful when starting out because it will clear up the water and the corals can get shocked from the light penetration.

I just put it in the chamber. You want to fluidize the media so that it tumbles around. With the flow, it raises the media so it looks like there is about 3" inside... I think I have a pic of it running; I'll find it and post it here in a minute.

I use the tlf 150 also and use Seachem's phosphate remover and use the matrix carbon as well.

when the media looks like the upper layer is 'boiling', then you have the perfect flow. i use a maxijet 900 wide open and it's perfect.

other than the reactor what do you need to run this thing? Can someone explains how it works, cause I think I need to hook one up to the 55. Can you run carbon and a phospate remove at the same time?
Sorry Scruffy I think i just hijacked

Amy,
You just need a way of getting water to it (about 1-200 gph) by T-ing off a pump or buying a MJ 900 or 1200 works well, a little tubing and some media.
