PFO HQI 400w ballasts

Can someone compare the humm of the ballasts to something? I prefer electronic 400w but there seems to be a shortage of them.... Wondering if the PFO will work.

Thanks
Kevin

I have a PFO magnetic and it is silent. I have several Advance bare magnetics in metal boxes on prop systems and they make quite a hum, but it's they're in the garage, it doesn't bother me.

As a corollary, my magnetics don't get even warm either.

I think that a slight hum is normal on the Hamitons and all magnetic ballast. I have had the hamiltons in the past and did have some noise but not really bad. You will get some heat from them also which is normal. everything I do now is electronic ballast. I just like the electronic better.
