PFO dual 250 watt MH ballast any good?
Are these good ballasts? Are they noisy? I want to strech my dollars but want good stuff too! (yes I know how that sounds!)

they are good ballasts. they are just not electronic ballasts. they can be loud. may not be in the beginning, but could become hummy after a while.

Maybe I lucked out because I have a PFO dual HQI ballast and it not only doesn't hum, it runs cool too. I've got an Icecap electronc sitting on top of it and no worries.

So why did I buy a PFO to begin with? According to Sanjay Joshi's articles on light efficiencies, the Ushio DE's were pushed better (produced more PAR) by the PFO than by any other ballast.

I am thinking of going with mogul bulbs, are they decent bulbs compared to others style?

OK, we are talking about different ballasts.
i was thinking of their cheapest options. their more expensive ones look like electronic ballasts.
