Pet stores and cured/uncured liverock?

I notice this one particular LFS that I've been visiting lately doesnt have a large turnover of liverock, for the past month that I've been visiting this store, I notice the same rocks in the tank that has liverock for sale.

He tells me that it's uncured liverock, but Im just wondering here, if he's had it in this tank for a month or more, then wouldnt it be considered cured liverock?

Out of the couple pieces that I did pick up from his store, (4 pieces total) none of them had any foul odor, so wouldnt this mean that they are already cured?

newly harvested rock (from the ocean) sits dry on the docks, and thus has a lot of die off. when it arrives in the petstore, they usually submerge it (well I hope!) and do large water changes on it. if its had a chance to go through a dying off period, then is submerged again, when the smell is gone and there is no ammonia or nitrite left in the water, its safe to put in your tank. have them test the water for you, smell it, and when you take it home, keep it submerged if possible. this is my take on it

also you might do a search on curing live rock to get a better understanding of the whole cycling/curing process. im at work or i'd post a good link for you

Sounds like its cured to me break out the old test kits look for die off on it and most importantly give it the ole sniff test if it smells bad it is, should smell like saltwater only.
